Location: Caltrans Training Facility in OAKLAND (200 Burma Rd)
NOTE: You may wear comfortable clothing, however the clothes must be clean, not oversized (pants or shirts), no head gear, No “A”-Shirts (aka Tank Tops) shirts with offensive language or short pants. You must wear shoes (no sandals, or open toe), and collar shirts must be tucked in if worn. Furthermore, I ask that you adhere to the following simple requirements for the training sessions you are about to begin:

Please:
1. Be on time.
2. Be alcohol/drug free (No odor of alcoholic beverages will be tolerated).
3. Be clean and groomed.
4. Be rested and alert; you must stay awake in class to avoid being removed from the process.

Additionally, you will be required to provide evidence of legal residency in the United States. This will require you to present either a social security card (not a photo copy) or a certified copy of a birth certificate showing you were born in the United States. You must bring one of these documents with you to the certification class. If the applicant has not lived continuously within the state for the last seven year, a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), check will be conducted.

While not all contingencies cover the entire dress code, exercise sound judgment while attending the certification classes. Those who do not meet these minimum expectations will be asked to leave the class. If you are removed from a class, you will not have the opportunity to make it up until the following quarter (approximately 3 months) of the year.

We prohibit individuals with significant criminal histories from working in the FSP program. Convictions of certain crimes will prohibit you from working in this program. Your criminal record will be reviewed. Should you have any questions concerning your eligibility due to a past arrest, please consult with your employer concerning the arrest.

Again, I welcome you. I’m sure you will find the class to be a comfortable and meaningful experience. If you have any questions, prior to the class, do not hesitate to call (707) 648-4180/Ext 234.
